(★BREAKING) Kim Jong Un Visits South Korea For The First Time, Says He Wants Peace
North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae In have met on the South Korean side of the border for the inter-Korean summit talks.
The meeting took place at the Peace House on the border village of Panmunjom.
It is the first meeting between the leaders of South and North Korea in 11 years since the 2007 Inter-Korean Summit between President Roh Moo Hyun and Leader Kim Jong Il, and the first time the leaders will meet in South Korea.
The Inter-Korean Summits in 2000 and 2007 were held in Pyongyang, North Korea.
Photos revealed the two leaders shaking hands during the historic first encounter.
After posing for photos, they both stepped briefly onto North Korean territory and then back over the border to the South.
The two leaders were also handed flowers from a boy and girl from the village.
The leaders then proceeded to the Peace House on a red carpet welcomed by South Korean guards in traditional costumes playing traditional Korean music.
This is what Kim Jong Un wrote when signing the guest book before the summit began.
“A brand new history starts now. The era of peace, from the starting point of history. Kim Jong Un 2018.4.27”
