Kim Sae Ron Fined ₩20 Million KRW For Her Drunk Driving Case
Kim Sae Ron has been fined ₩20.0 million KRW (about $15,300 USD) for her drunk driving case.
Kim Sae Ron’s sentencing trial was held today (April 5 KST) at the Seoul Central District Court. The trial was presided by judge Lee Hwan Ki. Kim Sae Ron was indicted on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act by driving under the influence of alcohol.
Back at the last trial on March 8, prosecution demanded for Kim Sae Ron to be fined ₩20.0 million KRW (about $15,300 USD) for her crimes. They also demanded that the passenger in the car should be fined ₩5.00 million KRW (about $3,810 USD). The passenger who was riding alongside Kim Sae Ron did not attend the trial on April 5 and thus did not receive their sentence. Kim Sae Ron’s legal counsel argued for a lighter sentence.
Kim Sae Ron is currently supporting her family as the head of the family.
She is suffering from economic difficulties due to the large amount compensation she had to pay for the damages caused.

Back in May 2022, Kim Sae Ron was indicted for drunk driving after she was seen crashing into a transformer box in the Cheongdam neighborhood of Gangnam. Due to the crash, electricity to 57 nearby stores and homes was cut off for roughly three hours. Kim Sae Ron’s blood alcohol level was measured at 0.2%, more than six times Korea’s legal limit of 0.03%
