Another best friend of Kim Sae Ron has come forward to defend the late actress against her “Ex-Boyfriend K,” who claimed that actor Kim Soo Hyun played no part in her death.
Friend A, who identified herself as one of Kim Sae Ron’s closest friends who “basically lived with” the late actress and had a close relationship with the bereaved (including the aunt), revealed in an interview with Kim Se Ui (Kim Say) on Garosero Research Institute that she decided to step forward because she could not sit back and watch “Ex-Boyfriend K” slander Kim Sae Ron and the bereaved.

In the interview, she debunked Ex-Boyfriend K’s claim that Kim Sae Ron was estranged from her family. Additionally, Friend A revealed more about Ex-Boyfriend K that raised questions about the motive behind his involvement in the situation.
Friend A: I decided to speak up because of how much pain the bereaved is suffering after the claims made by Ex-Boyfriend K. I was one of Sae Ron’s closest friends. Last year, I basically lived with her at her place. I also saw her mom often. So I can confirm that it is not true that Sae Ron was estranged…
…I was at Sae Ron’s house whenever I had the chance and didn’t have any personal plans. When Sae Ron was awake, we stayed with her. When she slept, her mom went out to work.
Kim Se Ui: To work a designated driver service shift, right?
Friend A: Right. That’s also when I met the aunt who would come and go. She would feed us and pick up after house chores and whatnot.
According to Friend A, it was Ex-Boyfriend K on the other line in the leaked voice recording that claimed Kim Sae Ron’s death was caused by her abusive husband.
Friend A noted that, based on her impression of Ex-Boyfriend K from the several times she met him, he didn’t seem like a vile person—and so that she suspected Ex-Boyfriend K was threatened to have turned against Kim Sae Ron. Friend A also confirmed Kim Se Ui’s comment that Ex-Boyfriend K’s relationship with the late actress barely lasted two weeks.
Kim Se Ui: So you’ve met Ex-Boyfriend K before? Why do you think he’s doing this?
Friend A: I mean, I don’t think he’s a bad guy, based on what I know. He’s a quiet, introverted person… Like, when his phone conversation recording with director Kwak Tae Yong was leaked, he was terrified. So, I don’t think he’s the vile type. But seeing how he turned and wrote the statement and all… I have to suspect that either Kim Soo Hyun or Kwak Tae Yong threatened him and got to him. Like, I have reason to believe so.
Kim Se Ui: Right. Based on what I’ve heard from Kim Sae Ron’s other friends, Ex-Boyfriend K was not too outgoing and that his relationship with Kim Sae Ron lasted barely two weeks. I also wonder what’s making him humiliate Kim Sae Ron and the bereaved like this. It’s hard to understand.
Friend A: I don’t understand either.
Previously, with THE FACT not editing out some of the personal information in the “evidence” provided, Ex-Boyfriend K’s name, Chan Hee, was made known. Then, following Friend A’s interview, Kim Se Ui hinted that Ex-Boyfriend K is an aspiring star—with another YouTube channel, to which Kim Se Ui showed support with a ₩100,000 KRW (about $68.20 USD) donation, alleging he was a contestant on MBC‘s idol audition program, Fan Pick.
