Kim Shin Young Apologizes For Virtual Idol Group Controversy

TV personality and radio DJ Kim Shin Young has responded to the virtual idol group PLAVE controversy.
On February 17, she opened the radio broadcast with an apology.
“Many argued that my comments about the virtual group PLAVE on Sunday’s radio broadcast were unfair and objective. I accept all the opinions and sincerely apologize to the artists and fans hurt by this.
Through this, I once again felt the weight of every word and the responsibility of a radio DJ. I will be more careful in the future and will support PLAVE, who has worked harder than anyone to be on the path they are on.
I didn’t read the flow of the times. I think it’s right to say that I was rude beyond ignorance about PLAVE, who has worked hard all this time. The fans should have had a good weekend, and I feel a deep sense of responsibility for my words. I bow my head once again and apologize to everyone. I will study hard and learn more so that something like this doesn’t happen again.”

However, some netizens felt that fan reactions were going overboard.

- “So being obsessed over moving drawings is following the flow of the times? Then I just want to fall behind…”
- “She apologized properly; why are the fans rejecting it? Kim Shin Young hwaiting!”
- “Her apology seems sincere and clean. Fans should apologize for overreacting.
Previously during Kim Shin Young’s MBC FM4U’s Noon Song of Hope, she mentioned the virtual idol group PLAVE and received harsh criticism from fans.
