Kim Soo Hyun Claims Previous Exposed KakaoTalk Conversations Were Doctored

Actor Kim Soo Hyun has finally spoken out. On March 31, 2025, he held a press conference to address the ongoing controversy surrounding his past relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron. Allegations suggest he dated her while she was still a minor. Although he previously stated that their relationship only began after she reached the legal age, evidence presented by Kim Sae Ron’s grieving family appears to contradict his claim.
During the press conference, he claimed that the previously revealed KakaoTalk messages had been doctored. Kim Sae Ron’s family had exposed these.
If I have done anything wrong, I am fully willing to take responsibility. That is only right. However, I cannot admit to something I did not do. The recordings and testimonies that the family claims as evidence
were all created after this controversy began.The same goes for the KakaoTalk messages they first revealed. These messages contain numerous factual errors. The photo they claimed was from 2016 was actually from 2019. The deceased, of all people, would not have misstated our age gap.
Nor would they have gotten the name and contract period of their agency wrong— the agency they spent four years with. Additionally, the deceased never participated in casting or directing for my agency.
Recently, the family also held a press conference where they revealed KakaoTalk messages they claim to be between me and the deceased. On YouTube, they are using these messages from 2016 as proof to frame me as a pedophile, a groomer of minors.

He also claimed that he submitted the messages to forensics for analysis, with the results coming back that the messages were doctored.
However, the person talking to the deceased in the 2016 messages is not the same person from the 2018 messages. To prove this, I submitted all the relevant messages — the 2016 and 2018 chats provided by the family, as well as my own recent chats with acquaintances— to a scientific forensic institution for analysis.
The result: The institution concluded that the person in the 2016 messages is not the same as the person in the 2018 messages. This has been the most painful part of this controversy.
Whenever my agency and I respond to the family’s accusations, they suddenly release new recordings made after the controversy started. They manipulate timelines,
release selectively edited chat images,
and continue to fabricate statements and evidence. I am willing to accept all criticism for the choices I have made.But that does not mean falsehoods become the truth. Just as I had my messages scientifically verified, I will ensure that every piece of evidence presented by the family
is thoroughly examined by investigative authorities. If their claims are true, I urge them to submit everything to law enforcement and undergo legal scrutiny.Even now, there are people who depend on me,
people I am responsible for. I see them suffering and breaking down every day. I fear what new fabricated evidence and false testimonies will be used against me next.But if I were to give in and accept falsehoods as truth,
