Kim Soo Hyun “In Danger” Of Facing Billion Won Penalty Over Upcoming Fan Meeting

Kim Soo Hyun may face a large penalty due to his ongoing scandal.
The actor has recently been at the center of allegations involving the late Kim Sae Ron, with claims that they had a relationship when she was still a minor. The accusations, which have been widely discussed on the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute, have led to massive backlash both in South Korea and internationally.
The actor is currently scheduled to appear at 7-11’s 2025 Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival (also known as the 2025 Sakura Festival) in Taiwan. The festival is set to run from March 28 to 30, with the actor expected to meet fans on the final day from 9:20 PM to 10:00 PM (local time).
Many tiers of the tickets have already sold out, with no updates yet announced.
However, on March 19, the Taiwanese outlet ET Today reported that this schedule was now in danger of being canceled.
According to the report, a local brand representative said that if changes were to take place, they would immediately respond to protect the attendees’ rights.
As of now, the event will proceed as originally planned. If any changes arise, we will respond immediately and handle the situation appropriately while considering consumer rights.

If Kim Soo Hyun’s appearance is canceled, industry insiders estimate he could face a penalty of around ₩1.32 billion KRW (about $911,000 USD).
As more alleged details are revealed, public opinion has changed making the cancelation a real possibility.
