Kim Soo Hyun Addresses His Relationship With Kim Sae Ron At Emergency Press Conference

Actor Kim Soo Hyun finally breaks his silence. He held a press conference on March 31, 2025, to address his ongoing scandal about his relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron. He was accused of dating her when she was a minor. Although his last statement claimed that their relationship only happened after she turned legal, evidence provided by Kim Sae Ron’s bereaved family seemed to claim otherwise.

Kim Soo Hyun admitted to being in a relationship with Kim Sae Ron. He apologized deeply for having initially denied the relationship when the latter uploaded a selfie of the two.

I think of myself as a coward. This whole time, I’ve been focused on keeping what I have. I was unaware of the benevolence extended to me and I was afraid of losing everything. I’ve been hiding. So it took me a long time to come here. I wondered how things might have been if I held a press conference at the beginning of it all. Then, I would not have caused so much suffering to the fans who love and support me, the staff at my management company.

Every time a revelation was made about me and the deceased, I kept thinking, ‘I’m going to tell them everything tomorrow. I’m going to reveal everything, and I’m going to end this hell.’ But each time, I ended up hesitating. I was afraid of the aftermath of my decision. What if I mess everyone and everything up? When ‘Queen of Tears’ was airing, and the deceased uploaded a photo of me and her, I felt the same. The deceased and I were in a relationship for about a year, five years ago — four years before Queen of Tears aired. However, at the time, I denied our relationship. I believe I deserve the criticism for what I’ve done.
