Following Kim Soo Hyun‘s emergency press conference addressing allegations surrounding his relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron, netizens have also shifted attention to the forensic company he enlisted to analyze his controversial messages. The company’s track record of handling sexual assault cases has sparked intense backlash and disgust.
During his press conference, Kim Soo Hyun stated he had submitted various KakaoTalk conversations to a “scientific forensic institution” to prove his innocence regarding certain messages attributed to him.
I submitted all the relevant messages — the 2016 and 2018 chats provided by the family, as well as my own recent chats with acquaintances — to a scientific forensic institution for analysis.

Following his claims, curious netizens investigated the forensic company’s background, uncovering a list of previous cases that have caused significant outrage. The company seemingly specializes in analyzing victim testimonies in sexual violence cases.
CASE 1
The defendant, who operated an orphanage, was sentenced to 13 years for allegedly sexually assaulting and molesting a teenage victim from the orphanage multiple times. Meanwhile, the victim claimed to have suffered the same sexual assault and molestation from the deputy director as well.
Analysis Results
- The victim was unable to reconstruct the incident at the time it occurred
- No statements regarding sensations and emotions typically present in actual experiences could be found
- The victim’s statements about the defendant and deputy director were almost identical, while the testimony about the deputy director was much more detailed and specific
Based on these findings, an opinion was presented that the victim’s testimony against the defendant was not truthful.
Through the submission of a statement analysis report and expert testimony (by Dr. Jeon Woo Byeong), the defendant was found not guilty.
Multiple examples showed instances where the company’s analysis contributed to defendants being found not guilty in sexual assault cases, particularly those involving vulnerable victims such as children, intellectually disabled individuals, and people who were unconscious during alleged assaults.
CASE 2
The defendant in this case was accused of molesting the victim multiple times by touching her genitals and breasts while she was sleeping.
Analysis Results
The victim’s testimony claiming sexual assault by the defendant was analyzed. The results showed:
- It was unclear how the victim, who was asleep, became aware of the assault
- No statements were found regarding the victim’s physical sensations that would have been experienced during the assault
An opinion was presented that the testimony was not truthful.
Through the submission of a statement analysis report and expert testimony (by Dr. Kim Mi Young), the defendant was found not guilty.
