On March 27, 2025, Bu Ji Seok, the legal representative of the bereaved family of the late Kim Sae Ron, held a press conference in Seocho-gu, Seoul. There, he disclosed text messages exchanged between the deceased and Kim Soo Hyun in June 2016. He alleged that the texts were enough proof that the two were in a romantic relationship when the late actress was still a minor.
Intimate texts of Kim Soo Hyun asking Kim Sae Ron for hugs and kisses were previously revealed.
KSR: “You’ never wake up.”
KSH: “Yeah, I wouldn’t know, even if you kissed me.”
KSR: “So you wouldn’t notice even if I did it a few times. Yay.”
KSH: “When can I hold you and fall asleep? I think I’d be able to sleep really well then.”
KSR: “Yeah, I’ll let you do that.”
Continuing that, he began asking her how long it would take for her to let him be physically intimate with her.
KSH: “Will it take about a year?”
KSR: “Hmm. Maybe?”
KSH: “3 Years? Ha.”
KSR: “I mean, a year is pretty long. But 3?”
KSH: “You think a year is too long? Then in 6 months?”

Previously, Kim Soo Hyun’s representatives claimed that the relationship only started when she turned legal. At the time of these messages, Kim Sae Ron was only 17 years old.
