Fans Confused Over The Order Of Names In Credits For Kim Yoo Jung And Ahn Hyo Seob As “Hong Chun Gi” Leads
Many have expressed their confusion over the order of names in credits and promotional materials for the upcoming drama, Hong Chun Gi (also known as Lovers of the Red Sky). Customarily, larger names or starring roles are named first in such materials. It is often considered a matter of prestige and pride as well. For example, Kim Sae Ron had previously dropped out of Love Playlist‘s spin-off, Dear. M, under the pretext where she was not satisfied with the name order.
This time, the tussle involves actors Kim Yoo Jung and Ahn Hyo Seob. Their names have since been alternated in order for the various promotional materials and web searches, causing confusion. Accordingly, the actor with the larger role or name-value would come first. As Kim Yoo Jung will play the titular character of Hong Chun Gi, many expected her to be listed first. However, quick searches show that Ahn Hyo Seob was more often listed before her. He plays the male lead, Ha Ram.
The drama team has stated, “We have only decided on the order of the names to be used alternatively. There’s no special meaning. As Kim Yoo Jung was decided for the title role, Ahn Hyo Seob waited for a year after casting and so we have been alternating the orders in order to pay respects to that.” Ahn Hyo Seob had waited for a year for filming to start after he had accepted the role, resulting in the drama team wishing to show him appreciation and respect for his kind considerations.
However, the public are concerned as Kim Yoo Jung debuted in 2003, with 55 works to her name so far, while Ahn Hyo Seob debuted in 2015, with only 11 works credited to him.
Kim Yoo Jung’s agency has denied to comment while Ahn Hyo Seob’s agency stated that the two actors are just being alternated in regards to name order.
