The two were former JYP Entertainment trainees and contestants in Sixteen. Unfortunately, both of them failed to earn a spot in TWICE.

In the show, Natty couldn’t help but tear up upon remembering the finale of Mnet‘s Produce 48 (2018), the next survival show Chaeyeon joined. It was a high-pressure episode as her name was the last to be called for the lineup of IZ*ONE.

The KISS OF LIFE member admitted that she cried while watching her friend’s dream come true.

When you debuted, I was looking at my phone. I cried. I genuinely cried. I never told you about it.

It was an especially emotional time for her considering she did not make it to the final group of Mnet‘s Idol School (2017) the year before. She ranked 13th, missing her debut by four spots.

[I cried] because I couldn’t debut at that time either.

She was worried it would have been another situation where both of them failed to make their debut.

We were always the two who hadn’t debuted until the end. Everyone else debuted so we wondered why we couldn’t debut and talked about it.

Thus, when Natty saw Chaeyeon secure her chance to become a K-Pop idol, she couldn’t help but cry. In the end, they found it satisfying that they “both met by finally passing.”

When I saw you succeed, I got really emotional and cried.
