Korean Star Files Lawsuit Against Husband’s Alleged Mistress During Ongoing Divorce
Popular broadcaster Park Ji Yoon has filed a lawsuit against her husband Choi Dong Seok‘s alleged mistress. She has added this lawsuit on top of many others during her ongoing divorce proceedings.
According to a report by CBS, which cites legal sources, Park filed a damages lawsuit against a woman identified as “Ms. A” in June. The Jeju District Court is handling the case, and it has been confirmed that “Ms. A” is accused of being Choi Dong Seok’s mistress. The second hearing for the case is schedule for Ocxtober 29.
Since last year, the threshold for cases handled by single-judge benches in family law cases has been expanded to include cases with a value of up to ₩500 million KRW (about $382,000 USD). CBS claims that this suggests the amount that Park Ji Yoon is seeking in damages from “A” may be less than this amount.
Park’s divorce from Choi Dong Seok became public in October of last year after she filed a divorce mediation request against her ex-husband.
The two stars are popular KBS announcers. They were married in November 2009 but decided to part ways after 14 years of marriage. They have two children, one daughter and one son.
When news of their divorce became public, Choi Dong Seok took to social media, raising issues regarding child custody, leading to a public back-and-forth with Park Ji Yoon’s side. He also appeared on the TV Chosun variety show Now I’m Alone, where he revealed details about his life post-divorce.
