Actors Uhm Hyun Kyung and Cha Seo Won responded to reports stating that they were engaged and expecting a child together.

On June 5, Cha Seo Won took to his fan cafe to write to his fans. In a letter, the actor confirmed the reports and revealed he was expecting a child.

It has been a while (since I’ve written here). I feel my mind and body have gotten healthier while I’ve been in the military. I think many of you guys may have been shocked reading the news. I am writing to you because I wanted to be the one to tell you. I’ve met my lover and life partner. She makes me laugh and gives me happiness, so I want to make her happy. We started dating with good feelings and are now considering marriage.

The actor then revealed the news that the couple were expecting their first child.

We’ve been blessed with a child. Although I am lacking, the fact I am becoming a father is already changing my attitude toward life. Due to your never-ending love, I was able to become an actor. I will do my best to become a good actor. I will do my best as a head of my family and will live and love. I will work to become a good person. Thank you.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Uhm Hyun Kyung’s agency also confirmed the news in a short statement.

Cha Seo Won is a fast-rising actor who has starred in Unintentional Love Story, Lover Or Die, and The Second Husband. K-Drama fans will remember that the two actors won an acting award at the 2021 MBC Drama Awards for their respective roles in The Second Husband.
