Korean Actress Shares The Devastating Details Of Losing Her Child
Actress Park Bo Mi recently shed tears as she recalled the memories of losing her 15-month-old son, who passed away in May.
On December 18, Park Bo Mi appeared as a guest on the CBS show Make Us New and opened up about the tragic incident.
She revealed that her son Simon was healthy enough to overcome COVID-19 but suddenly developed a fever.
When my child was 15 months old, he suddenly had a fever in the early hours of the morning. Because of his fever, I giving him a fever inducer, and his fever went down… Then, in the morning, his face was slightly red again and his fever went up. But he ate everything I gave him.

She stated that her child was eating and pooping, so she wasn’t very concerned at first. However, when her baby, who usually didn’t cry, started to whine and cry, she decided to go to the emergency room. Because her husband was on a business trip, her friends accompanied her there.
Suddenly, I was holding him in my arms when his eyes darted around, then he had what looked like a seizure. Then his body went limp. I could feel that, so I said, ‘What do I do? What do I do? Hurrry hurry!’ From that moment, I wasn’t in my right mind.

A fire station was nearby, so the firefighters performed CPR on the child, but the baby’s heart did not beat again. However, after being taken to the emergency room and 40 minutes of painful waiting, the doctor told Park Bo Mi that his heart miraculously started beating again with the help of a machine.
However, during this moment, Park Bo Mi stated that she felt guilty for worrying that he would have a disability during a time when she should be worrying about whether he could live or not.
Honestly, it wasn’t even though for me to pray for him to live but I was searching for things on Naver… I prayed, ‘Please save him. What if he gets a disability? Then what do I do?’ I felt so guilty about that. When the doctor told me his heart miraculously started beating again, I cried so much. I had worried about something else. Praying to save his life wasn’t enough yet I was worrying about him having a disability because I knew how hard that would be for him.

However, her son’s health deteriorated over time. Eventually, she heard from the hospital that they should consider letting the child go by stopping the machine that kept his heart beating.
I knew in my head that I had to let him go, but when I saw him, he was so warm and his heart was beating. He was just sleeping, and I was so sad thinking about the fact I could never see him again.

After a pastor baptized the baby and told Park Bo Mi that the baby was already in heaven, Park Bo Mi and her husband decided to let him go on May 21 at 5:17 PM.
She added that losing her baby has made everyday things challenging to do.
Even now, I don’t think I can use the fabric softener I used to use. When I stepped into my home, I kept smelling Simon. The laundry was hanging, his food was inside the refrigerator. I didn’t know what to do with all that. So I kept crying while smelling my baby’s scent.

She also recalled when she realized her son was no longer with her.
Simon was really chubby and cute. But when I was spreading his ashes, I saw piece of the orange jacket my best friend gave him. At that moment, I realized, ‘Oh, he really became ashes now.’
