Korean Man Found Tied To A Dumbbell In Han River

On July 28, 2024 (KST), the South Korean Goyang Police Station received a report of a male body floating in the water near the Haengju Naruteo dock in Goyang City—the westside mouth of the Han River.
The police and fire authorities responding to the report retrieved the body and confirmed it to be a man in his 60s who lived alone in Seoul.
It was also disclosed that, at the time of discovery, the body had an 11-pound (5-kilogram) dumbbell tied to the arm with a shoelace.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death continue as the police are speaking to his family and friends.
