Kim has scored a whopping 276 at the World Memory Championships, setting a new record after his predecessor, Chinese-Australian professor Terence Tao. Tao held the title of the person with the highest IQ in the world before Kim, with an IQ of 230.
Kim is a 35-year-old alumni of the prestigious Yonsei University. He is the only Korean member who is a part of both the Mega Society and the Giga Society, two organizations that only accept members with exceptional IQs. He is also the founder of the United Sigma Intelligence Association, a non-profit group comprising over 100 intelligent individuals around the world. This group includes big-name academics, including professors from universities like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.
Meanwhile, the World Memory Championships is an international event where pre-selected, highly intelligent individuals compete in a tournament-style competition to determine the final winner. In the process, the participants’ IQs are also comprehensively evaluated. The event is organized by the World Mind Sports Council.
