Newjeans‘ Hyein has made netizens everywhere emotional after revealing that she cried while watching today’s episode of SBS‘s popular music show, Inkigayo.
Through several messages sent to her fans through the fan communication app Phoning, Hyein shared the segment of today’s Inkigayo episode that made her emotional. It was Newjeans’ unexpected interview answer that touched the star’s heart.

The emotional moment — which left not only Hyein but also Korean netizens in tears — happened when the other NewJeans members were asked to pick the sweetest among them, as a play on their new single titled “How Sweet.” The four members, without Hyein present, immediately pointed to the camera and said “Hyein” without any hesitation.
The gesture, while seemingly small, was enough to show just how much the five girls love each other.

Perhaps what made this most emotional is the fact that Hyein has been absent from several NewJeans performances for weeks now due to an unfortunate injury. On May 7, it was announced that she had a microfracture in her foot. While her injury is healing, she has been advised to sit out of NewJeans’ comeback performances to ensure she fully recovers.
