Korean Netizens React To NewJeans’ “Disappointing” Chart Ranking Amid HYBE and Min Hee Jin Feud
The drama revolving around HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin has found NewJeans at the center of the public feud between the two parties, though it has very little to do with NewJeans themselves. Despite this, netizens seem to think the noise surrounding the group has seemingly affected the chart performance of their most recent release, “How Sweet.”
Though a highly anticipated single, “How Sweet,” has underperformed on the charts, according to many netizens. The song recently fell down to 3rd place on Melon, a chart NewJeans is known to dominate.
On Bugs, “How Sweet” is currently in 3rd place, having peaked at #2 after its release.
Meanwhile, the track seems stuck in 7th place on Genie.
Lastly, on the 24-hour FLO music chart, “How Sweet” is sitting at number 8.
While many netizens feel as though the song still has time to chart better, having only been released yesterday, some claim the chart performance is “really bad” for the standard NewJeans have set for themselves.
