Korean Woman Killed After Refusing To Have Sex With 44 Year Old Man
A tragic incident unfolded in a Hanoi hotel in Vietnam, resulting in the death of a Korean woman and the subsequent arrest of a Korean man. The suspect, identified as Lee and aged 44, is currently under investigation for murder.
According to reports from Vietnamese media outlet VN Express, the Hanoi public security forces apprehended Lee on June 1. The arrest occurred after an altercation between Lee and the victim — a 33-year-old woman referred to as Ms. A — escalated fatally. The two had checked into the hotel on May 30 at approximately 1 PM.
It has been reported that the altercation began when Ms. A refused Lee’s advances for sexual relations. The argument quickly turned violent, and within ten minutes, Lee allegedly strangled Ms. A in a fit of rage, leading to her death.
Following the incident, Lee attempted to flee and made his way to the 65th floor of the hotel, apparently contemplating suicide. However, hotel staff intervened and stopped him from jumping off the building. He was then taken into custody by local authorities.
In a separate but similar tragedy, a man in South Korea in his 30s reportedly killed his partner and later took his own life. The police received a call on May 28 around noon from the killer, during which he confessed to his crime. When the officers arrived at the scene, they unfortunately found him dead on the street, indicating that he had committed suicide.
The police then discovered his partner’s body by tracing the killer’s movements. It is believed the woman was killed around May 22, nearly a week before the man confessed.
Both incidents have raised concerns among the public regarding violent domestic disputes escalating into murder. Meanwhile, authorities in Vietnam are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
