Famous YouTuber Features Former APRIL’s Naeun In Now-Deleted Video, Faces Backlash For “Secondary Bullying”
A famous Korean YouTuber by the name of Kwak Tube recently posted a video featuring former APRIL’s Lee Naeun. Kwak Tube has over 2 million subscribers and is known for his connections with the entertainment industry.
In the now-deleted video, he was touring Europe with Naeun. It was stated that they met up as she had been in London while he was preparing to travel to France from London. A conversation they had while they were having dinner angered netizens.
In the conversation, he talked about how he initially blocked Naeun after news of her bullying incident broke. Later on, he unblocked her after reading an article where she denied having done so. He also apologized for being sensitive, as he used to be a victim of bullying as well.
In other scenes where they travel together, they appear close, with Naeun feeding him at times.
Netizens were furious as they claimed that he had no right to forgive Naeun on behalf of the victim.
- I’m so disappointed in you, Kwak Tube. It’s not like you’re the victim, so why are you forgiving her?
- Lee Hyunjoo is the victim of bullying. Kwak Tube is the secondary perpetrator. Hope to not see him on YouTube again.
- If Kwak Tube is forgiving Lee Naeun saying that he’s sorry for misunderstanding her, based on the fact that she was nice to him, the people who bullied Kwak Tube would also have been good people to those close to them. I’m disappointed in him because the fact that bullies are nice to others is something that makes the victim feel worse. So if people say that Kwak Tube’s bullies are not bad people, he loses the right to argue.
- Her school bullying accusations are false, but in the court verdict documents, APRIL including Lee Naeun had indeed bullied Lee Hyunjoo, so her claims of group bullying could not be seen as slander.
Naeun and the other APRIL members, apart from Rachel who joined the group later, were accused of bullying former member Lee Hyunjoo. Through court documents it was revealed that Naeun admitted to certain accused incidents such as putting heavily fermented Cheon Guk Jang stew in Hyunjoo’s tumbler, as well as using her shoes. Later, the members took out several different counter lawsuits against Hyunjoo, all of which were rejected by the court. You can read more about the incident below.
