IU‘s Instagram was recently flooded with hate comments. She had shown support for protestors that had called for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol. those who had been in support of Yoon had taken to leaving malicious comments.
IU’s Instagram Flooded With Hate Comments After Recent Political Strife
In particular, haters tried to report her to the CIA. They claimed that by supoprting the impeachment, she was supporting communism, as President Yoon Suk Yeol claimed to have been trying to protect the country against “communist forces.” The CIA takes communist threat seriously, hence haters attempted to use it to threaten IU.
