The 2023 Annual MelOn Chart Top 20 So Far Is Totally Owned By Two K-Pop Artists

Girl groups are seriously at the top of the K-Pop industry right now!

It’s hard to believe that we’re already getting close to being halfway through 2023, but it is the beginning of June, and summer is well on its way! Though we still have seven months left of the year, there have been some songs trending so strongly on the MelOn music charts that they already have a huge chance of being among the top 20 on the end-of-year annual charts, and the artists that overwhelmingly own the charts have people talking.

The topic recently became a discussion on an online forum post, where screenshots were shared of the current top 20 songs on MelOn’s annual chart. Amazingly, out of the 20 songs, nearly half of them are by just two K-Pop artists.

Unsurprisingly, of course, one of them is NewJeans. Not only are four of their songs in the top ten of the chart, but they’re currently taking each of the top three rankings!

The other artist with four songs on the chart is, perhaps also unsurprisingly, IVE. Three of their tracks are also in the top ten of the chart, which is especially impressive given how long ago some of them were released.

Others included on the chart are LE SSERAFIMSEVENTEEN‘s BSS, and (G)I-DLE.
