After Jeju Air Flight 2216 crashed on the morning of December 29, posts appeared on X (formerly known as Twitter) seeking information on K-Pop fans believed to be on board the flight after watching the show in Bangkok.

“@@@@
Please get in touch with me if you can reach or hear anything about a MYDAY [Day6 fan] named Kim ** who boarded the Bangkok-Muan flight around 1:30 AM today.

They were supposed to return to Korea after watching the AAAs, but I have not been able to hear back from them. Please, I beg you. They were wearing a bag with a plushie key chain attached to it.

While one netizen searched for a Day6 fan, another looked for two &TEAM fans they had just met.

“I’m sorry for tweeting from this account…

But today at 1:30AM, two LUNÉs boarded the Bangkok-Muan flight. If you are in touch with either of them or if you know their identities, please DM me.

I will leave the DMs open.”

Despite the tragic situation, some commenters questioned the netizen’s intention, accusing them of using the plane crash for clout as they didn’t seem to know anything about the two fans. The original poster clarified the matter.

“Let me clarify since a lot of you are cursing me out.

I met them on the day of the awards show. We parted ways right after the ceremony. We met via an open chatroom, so I don’t know their names or ages.

I just can’t get a hold of them until now, which is why I’m looking for them.”

The recovery operations for the plane crash is currently still ongoing.
