K-Pop Fans Voted For Their Favorite ’97 Liner, And Their Top Choice Is Entirely Unexpected
1997 was a year that saw the births of many beloved future K-Pop boy group idols. Among them are BTS‘s Jungkook, ASTRO‘s Eunwoo, Stray Kids‘ Bang Chan, SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu, and many others!
Because of this, it can be hard for multi-stan K-Pop fans to decide on who their favorite idol born in 1997 is, since there are so many great options to choose from.
A recent poll on YouTube asked fans just who their favorite ’97-liner was, with four choices given for people to vote on.
And while three of the choices weren’t surprising, there was one name on the poll that took fans by surprise — and yet, he ended up winning by a landslide!
The four nominees on the poll were Jungkook, Eunwoo, actor Yeo Jin Goo, and… King Sejong.
That’s right — the famous monarch of Korea’s past was listed on a poll to vote for favorite ’97 liners, because he was, in fact, born in 1397!
He also ended up receiving a whopping 88% of votes on the poll 😂

The fourth ruler of the Joseon dynasty in Korea, King Sejong is still considered to be one of the country’s greatest leaders in history. One of his most notable accomplishments was the creation of the Korean alphabet, Hangul, in order to increase literacy among the population.
His list of other achievements and successes as a ruler is quite long, so it really makes sense for him to have won first place in the poll!
So, are you ready to join the King Sejong fandom?
