Netizens Are Split On Whether "Boys Planet" Contestant Seok Matthew Looks Similar To Popular Third-Gen K-Pop Idol

Over the first couple episodes of Boys Planet, Seok Matthew has leaped in popularity, first ranking at 32nd and now currently placed in 2nd out of the 93 contestants.

A former Cube Entertainment trainee, Matthew is representing his current label, MNH Entertainment, while he competes on Boys Planet. His handsome visuals and smooth vocal abilities have made him a fan favorite of the global group of contestants on the show, giving him a promising chance of ending up as one of the nine finalists.

Recently, however, it’s his apparent visual similarities to a popular third-generation K-Pop idol that has netizens talking. The topic became the subject of a post on an online Korean forum, but opinions seem to be split pretty heavily on the matter.

The post claims that Matthew looks like he could be related to EXO‘s Xiumin.

The comparison was even mentioned on Boys Planet itself, and the post shares a side-by-side look at the third generation idol and Boys Planet contestant. You can determine for yourself which side you agree with.

Interestingly, comments from Korean netizens seem to mostly agree that the two look similar enough to be related.
