Idol Under Fire For Insensitive Post Following Jeju Air Plane Crash

Amid the Jeju Air plane crash, a K-Pop idol received much criticism for the timing of his Weverse post.
&TEAM’s Fuma posted several photos online on December 29 at 11:11 AM along with a caption with fruit and airplane emojis.
However, this garnered much backlash as it was posted around the peak of the Jeju Air plane crash news.
On December 29, 2024 (KST), around 9:07 AM, a Jeju Air flight carrying 181 people (175 passengers and 6 crew members) from Bangkok to Muan failed to land, resulting in numerous casualties.

Many netizens found it hard to believe that he didn’t know about the plane crash at the time the photos were posted.

- “He might not have known around 11:11 AM.”

The Weverse post has since been deleted.
Meanwhile, Korea has declared a national mourning period for the victims of the crash.
