Three 4th-Gen K-Pop Idols Enlist In The Military On The Same Day

Three fourth-generation K-Pop idols officially began their mandatory military service on January 20, 2025 (KST).

In 2019, 28-year-old Rie debuted as a member of OnlyOneOf. He is now the first member to enlist in the military, putting his idol activities on hold until his discharge. Once he has completed basic training, he will join the military’s army band as an active duty soldier.

25-year-old Sunghyuk debuted as a member of TAN in 2022. He will be joining the 7th Army Corps Band, where his fellow TAN member Jooan is also serving.

Like Rie and Sunghyuk, 26-year-old Kim Woojin will be serving as an active duty soldier in the army band after he finishes basic training. The former Stray Kids member first debuted in 2018 with Stray Kids, then again as a soloist in 2021.

All three idols are expected to be discharged on July 19, 2026.
