Just 7 Male K-Pop Songs Reached Over 10k Hearts On MelOn In The First Hour Of Release In 2024

Two were soloist songs!

In this day and age of K-Pop, it seems like girl groups and female artists are still taking the lead in popularity, at least when it comes to streaming. Some boy groups have been slowly becoming more liked by the general public and making it higher onto Korean music charts, but they still have a way to go before they’re at the same level of the most popular girl groups these days.

So when male artists make a notable achievement on Korean music charts, it’s worth celebrating! One way to measure their success is by how many hearts they earn on MelOn, especially within a certain time limit, and recently a list was made of the seven male K-Pop songs that earned over 10,000 hearts within the first hour of release.

With the seventh-most hearts on the list is NCT‘s Mark. One of the only two soloists on the list, his song “200” earned 11,033 hearts within the first hour after it came out on May 16.

Shortly after Mark is rookie boy group RIIZE, whose most recent comeback with “Boom Boom Bass” might prove to be their most successful yet! In the hour after it came out on June 17, it earned a total of 11,370 hearts.

The only fourth gen boy group on the list is TXT, who takes the fifth place with “Deja Vu”. Released on April 1, it earned 11,579 hearts in the hour after it came out.

PLAVE proved their impressive accomplishments as a virtual idol group, coming in fourth place with their song “WAY 4 LUV”. In the first hour of its release on February 26, the song earned 12,305 hearts.

In third place is soloist Jungkook, who, despite being enlisted in the military currently as well as releasing his song at a “slower” time of day at 1PM KST on June 7, still made a mark with “Never Let Go”. The fan-inspired song earned 13,302 hearts in its first hour.

Second place goes to NCT DREAM and their most recent title track, “Smoothie”. Released on March 25, the song reached 14,409 hearts in the first hour after it came out.

And finally, the first-place spot goes to SEVENTEEN! Though “Maestro” was the title track for a compilation album (which tend to not make as big of an impact as other types of albums), it still earned a whopping 20,205 hearts in the first hour of release on April 29.

Here’s how people are reacting to these seven artists and the songs they made this accomplishment with.
