The Most Popular Accessory To Come Out Of K-Pop In 2022: The Fluffy Hat
K-Pop idols are known for starting new fashion trends all the time, especially those that are highly influential and popular in the industry. From mullets to tech-wear to cowboy boots, there have been countless times that they’ve been able to make even questionable trends look chic and stylish!
For 2022, there has been one accessory that has been appearing on many K-Pop idols for promotions and other events, especially in the last couple of months. And that accessory is a big fluffy hat.
While there were a few idols that were ahead of their time and rocked the trend in 2021 or even earlier, super fluffy hats are definitely all the rage now, especially on young rookie idols and female idols in general!
Some of the earliest to rock the trend in 2022 were WJSN Chocome during their promotions for “Super Yuppers!”, as well as fromis_9‘s Jiwon for their “DM” era, both of which happened in January.
A couple of months later, Stray Kids‘s Han wore an ultra-fluffy hat for the group’s “MANIAC” promotions in March!
The trend went quiet for a few months after that, until IVE‘s Wonyoung reignited people’s interest with the group’s “After LIKE” era in August.
And the fluffy hat obsession really took off from there. In September, both NCT‘s Taeyong and BLACKPINK‘s Jennie brought the accessory to greater attention for their “2 Baddies” and “Shut Down” promotions respectively…
Multiple members of LE SSERAFIM — Chaewon and Yunjin — were seen wearing the fuzzy attire for the group’s “Antifragile” promotion pictures in October, as was MAMAMOO‘s Solar for “Illella”.
Finally, most recently, ITZY‘s Yeji as well as Red Velvet‘s Seulgi and Yeri are embracing the trend with the teaser images for their upcoming comebacks, CHESHIRE and The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday.
Since the warm accessory is perfect for the chilly autumn and winter seasons, we expect to keep seeing plenty of them in the months to come!
