K-Pop Vocal Trainers Reveal The Truth About Vocal Trainers Being “Failed Singers”
In the most recent video of AYO‘s “Comment Defenders” series, senior vocal trainers Kim Young Min and Lee Gyeol debunked common myths about their profession.
One of the first comments they read was regarding how they ended up as vocal trainers.
I heard vocal trainers are failed singers.
— AYO comment
Lee Gyeol laughed as he agreed with the comment.
He then joked that he couldn’t debut as an idol because of his face, saying that cashiers in convenience stores have never asked for his ID.
On a more serious note, he revealed that singers are more talented than vocal trainers.
Kim Young Min agreed and clarified that vocal trainers, naturally, are better than singers when they are just starting out.
Eventually, however, singers surpass them because of their talent.
They then passed on advice to those who are thinking of becoming vocal trainers.
Don’t put music as your first priority in your life. Do something you’re good at first and do music as a hobby so you can enjoy it.
