Heechul Will Not Participate In Super Junior’s World Tour Concerts Or Comeback Promotions
SM Entertainment‘s subsidiary label for Super Junior, Label SJ, has announced that Heechul will not be participating in Super Junior’s Super Show 8 World Tour concerts in Seoul, and will also not participate in Super Junior’s comeback album music show promotions later this year.
In their statement, they apologized to ELFs around the world who were looking forward to seeing him on stage, but confirmed he will not be taking a hiatus.
Hello, this is Label SJ.
We would like to inform you about Super Junior’s 9th full album, which is set to be released later this year and Super Show 8, which will be held starting in Seoul on October 12-13 at Seoul Olympic Stadium.
Super Show 8 will be attended by 8 members: Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun. Heechul will participate in the album’s contents and continue with his entertainment programs, but after discussing with the members, he has decided not to participate in Super Show 8 and broadcast activities for Super Junior’s 9th album.
We hope that fans understand that Heechul’s leg is still not healthy enough to continue performing on stage, so we have made this decision.
Thank you.

Heechul has suffered from leg pains ever since his horrific car accident in 2006. He has admitted before to not dancing as hard, and even completely sat out promotions and concerts before.
