The Latest Ratings For Park Min Young’s K-Drama “Love In Contract” Proves That All Press Is Good Press
Currently, in Korea, the hottest news topic is that of actress Park Min Young‘s dating allegations. First made public by Dispatch on September 28, the news of the actress dating controversial businessman Kang Jong Hyun shocked the nation.
It wasn’t long before the first posts condemning their union appeared. Mainly due to the allegations made in the Dispatch article stating that Kang Jong Hyun had been prior convicted of fraud and that he was living an uber-luxurious life while allegedly still owing millions of dollars in restitution.
Many fans worried for the actress’s image, which helped catapult the actress into becoming one of K-Drama’s most sought-ought stars, whose large fan base includes fans from all over the world.
A more immediate concern was her newly premiered K-Drama, Love In Contract. The drama aired its first episode on September 21, just one week prior to the Dispatch article.
Many were interested to see whether the drama’s ratings would be affected by the actress’s personal drama off-screen.
The drama’s third episode, which aired on September 28, however, proved the allegations had little effect on the audience. In fact, it seems more viewers tuned in to the episode, possibly due to the allegations.
According to Nielsen Korea, Love In Contract’s rating for the third episode, which aired on September 28, was 3.8%. This is 0.4% higher than its second episode, which defies many predictions that thought the drama would be affected by the article.
Although it may be too early to say the drama is completely in the clear, it seems, at least for now, that the drama’s audience members aren’t letting the allegations ruin their fun.
Love In Contract stars actress Park Min Young who plays a “Contract Marriage Master” who offers to be in a contract marriage with those that long to lead a single life. The drama also stars Go Kyung Pyo and Kim Jae Young.
