A netizen recently took to X and posted a thread about the problematic histories of male HYBE executives, which included Nu Kim’s Instagram post from 2016 where he was posing with a naked woman in the background.

According to reports from 2016, when the Instagram post invited a huge backlash, there were multiple pictures of similar fashion. Not only was the woman in the photo naked, her hands and legs were also bound with rope, and she was lying face down on the bed. The images were widely considered disturbing, potentially suggesting kidnapping, dating violence, and rape. The photos were supposedly a part of a project and were reposted by designer Christian Dada on his Instagram.

After the initial backlash, Nu Kim had deleted the pictures from his account. But with this controversy resurfacing amidst the ongoing chatter about the shady past of multiple HYBE executives, fans have gotten increasingly worried about the safety of the female idols working under the label. Many felt that Nu Kim’s creative direction led to multiple problematic decisions involving LE SSERAFIM members, and especially Eunchae, the group’s youngest.
