LE SSERAFIM’s “Unforgiven” Songwriter Gears Up To Debut As An Idol
LE SSERAFIM made a fiery comeback with their first studio album Unforgiven and a title track with the same name early this month. Legendary producer Nile Rodgers featured on the track, which drew much attention to the song. But there is another talented songwriter associated with “Unforgiven” who has caught the eye of fans.
On the Korean Music Copyright Association website, the song is registered with a long list of composers and lyricists credited under it, which includes the name Belle. In fact, her name appears in eight songs on the website, and what’s even more exciting is that she is gearing up to debut as a K-Pop idol!
Around a week ago, S2 Entertainment announced the debut of their newest girl group, Kiss Of Life, through an intriguing teaser on a newly opened YouTube channel and promotional posters on the group’s Instagram handle.
Apart from Belle, the other four members in the video are Julie Han, Natty, and Haneul.
So, how much did Belle really contribute to LE SSERAFIM’s song? Well, she is credited under both classifications “A” and “C” for the track, which respectively implies she participated as a lyricist and a composer.
But this is not her first rodeo as a K-Pop songwriter. Belle has worked on some popular tracks, including Kid Milli‘s “Kitty (Feat. MIYEON ((G)I-DLE),” Miyeon’s “Softly,” and Purple Kiss‘s “Find You.” She also did background vocals for NCT Mark’s song “Child”.
Belle is also seemingly close to ADORA, famously known for being one of BTS‘s producers before she decided to debut as an idol herself in 2021. The duo are labelmates, since ADORA is managed by S2 Entertainment’s sublabel AURA Entertainment. They even released a song mashup together on YouTube, combining BTS’s “Spring Day” and GFRIEND‘s “Labyrinth.”
Though her artistic alias is Belle, the real name of this talented 2004-liner is Shim Hyewon. The stage name is inspired by her English name Anabelle Shim. The fact that she has already established herself in the industry at such a young age has impressed netizens, sparking more interest in Kiss Of Life’s upcoming debut track in July!
