The video went viral, with millions of views across social media platforms. Fans were surprised to hear the C-word used in an official broadcast and wondered how Yunjin would explain it to Chaewon.
Originally, “c*unty” was a slang misogynistic insult. Yet, recently, it’s been reclaimed, and it’s used basically similarly to describing someone as a “bad b*tch.” According to Rolling Stone, “A new generation has been reclaiming ‘c*nt’ online, eliminating its misogynistic meaning and positioning it as something aspirational.”
Yunjin was actually quoting a meme specifically during the live broadcast. On September 11, The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (also known as the VMAs) was held. LE SSERAFIM performed their hits “Crazy” and “1-800-hot-n-fun” at the 2024 VMAs Pre-Show. Drag queens Plasma, Amanda Tori Meating, and Dawn served as correspondents during the event, and upon seeing Chaewon, they reacted to her bob with “this c*nty bob,” which went viral. Plasma even quote-tweeted the now-viral video of Yunjin and Chaewon’s conversation over the line, tagging the other drag queens.

In a recent virtual fansign/video call, the fan asked Yunjin if she really did explain what “c*nty bob” means, which Yunjin confirmed. She was shy in revealing how she explained it, telling the fan, “You know how I explained it.” However, she did reveal the members’ reactions, saying they all were just surprised, responding with, “Oh?!
