Lee Hongki Admits He Was Sad BTOB’s Eunkwang Became A Shareholder Of His Company First
FT Island‘s Lee Hongki is back from his mandatory military service and has officially graced us with his presence on the most recent episode of Radio Star.
The FT Island member stopped by the studio of Radio Star, marking his first scheduled activity since his discharge from his mandatory military service. Lee Hongki was recently discharged back in February and told the studio of Radio Star that he wanted the talk show to be his first variety program appearance for a hilarious reason.
I’m not sure why, but ‘Radio Star’ is always hard for me. I just decided to rip the bandaid off by coming here first.
— Lee Hongki
One of the hosts of the show, Kim Gura commented that “Lee Hongki is someone who said a lot of negative things about his label before he left for his service. He said a lot of things about his label’s CEO.” However, Kim Gura elaborated that while Lee Hongki was like that previously, he is probably FNC Entertainment’s most well-behaved artist.
He was like that, but after FNC Entertainment experienced numerous different controversies, I realized that Lee Hongki is a pure celebrity. He is FNC’s model student. He has had no scandals.
— Kim Gura
Lee Hongki responded to Kim Gura’s compliment by sharing that he believes his agency came to their senses after their share of controversies.
I think my company came to their senses after going through all the previous controversies. Before enlisting for my mandatory service, I was going through my contract renewal with them and I think that was the start of me slowly becoming best friends with my label’s CEO.
— Lee Hongki
Kim Guk Jin, who is another host of the program asked if Lee Hongki noticed any differences in his contract following FNC Entertainment’s different scandals. To this question, Lee Hongki admitted that there were.
There was a clause that talked about the company’s potential loss in regards to their image. I think the clause already existed, but I didn’t know about it. When I was in discussion for my contract renewal, the font explaining that clause was much bigger.

The singer segued into a similar topic regarding his position at his company and BTOB‘s Eunkwang becoming a shareholder of his respective label at Cube Entertainment.
After getting discharged, people kept asking me about my position in the company. They kept saying that I should be given a shareholder title. I saw that Eunkwang-sshi from BTOB became a shareholder of his company through the news. I was slightly disappointed when I heard that news because technically, he is my hoobae (someone who debuted later).
— Lee Hongki
However, Lee Hongki shared that he felt that some good news was soon on its way.
I heard this through the grapevines, but I think there will be positive news very soon.
— Lee Hongki
Lee Hongki is much deserving of the shareholder title and we hope he gets it soon! You can watch the FT Island member’s return on Radio Star down below.
