Lee Seung Gi Requests To Terminate His Contract With HOOK Entertainment
According to an exclusive report by News1, Lee Seung Gi has sent an official notice to HOOK Entertainment stating his desire to terminate his contract on the grounds that the label had violated their agreement.
The notice marks an escalation in an already tumultuous relationship between Lee Seung Gi and the agency he has been with for the past 18 years.
According to a representative of Lee Seung Gi, the star had recently sent his response to the accounting records, but that HOOK Entertainment had failed to satisfy his request for a transparent accounting of the revenue generated from his activities. The representative stated that despite acknowledging a discrepancy in regard to revenue generated through Lee Seung Gi’s music career, they did not make any attempts to rectify it.
To this, according to the representative, Lee Seung Gi felt the label did not fulfill the commitments laid out in their contract and that it was impossible to come to an agreement.
Currently, it looks like it would be hard to come to an agreement. We hope HOOK Entertainment will take accountability and provide a transparent (accounting) of the revenue generated from (Lee Seung Gi’s) music.

Previously, HOOK Entertainment’s CEO, Kwon Jin Young, in a statement, had admitted to there being discrepancies in the accounting and had promised to fulfill her financial obligations — going as far as stating she would liquidate her assets to do so.
The fallout between Lee Seung Gi and the only agency he has ever known stems was first revealed in an explosive Dispatch exposé. In the article, the label was alleged to have never paid Lee Seung Gi during his illustrious music career and had gaslighted him into believing he was a non-profitable “Minus Singer.”
Subsequent articles exposed Kwon Jin Young’s alleged abuses toward Lee Seung Gi and his manager. One of which is an audio recording of a person alleged to be the CEO threatening to kill the singer.
