Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In are alleged to have had their wedding sponsored by a jewelry company.
On April 11, a photo of Lee Seungi and Lee Da In’s wedding went viral on social media. Previously, the two held a wedding ceremony on April 7.
In the photo, Lee Seung Gi is seen serenading his bride with his hit ballad “Will You Marry Me.” As the singer started singing, netizens noticed that in the background, an ad for a jewelry brand came on.
According to reports, it seemed as if, in the middle of the wedding, a TV commercial came on. One netizen wrote, “I’ve never seen something like this in my life, but it seems it is a sponsored ad.” Another wrote, “Maybe it was because there are so many negative articles, but it seems they focused a lot on how they are seen, but did they have to accept the sponsorship on these terms?”
Netizens reacted negatively to the scene, with many stating it was tasteless to have their own wedding sponsored.
- “Seungi, how did this happen?…”
- “Are you sure they don’t have anything to do with the brand? I would understand if they are showing a jewelry brand that they own, but I’ve never heard of a PPL at a wedding, LOL.”
- “He lived his whole life with a great public image, but how does this happen? I don’t even know if I should trust celebrities’ images.”
- “I heard that the owner of the jewelry brand is an acquaintance of Lee Da In.”
- “Wow, LOL. I’ve never seen a wedding like that. Is there a way to have a PPL (at your wedding) like that?”
- “A commercial at a wedding? LOL.”
- “Why is that family so obsessed with money? LOL.”
