Lee Seung Gi Gives “Produce48” Trainees Life Advice That You Definitely Need To Hear Too
Lee Seung Gi dropped by on Produce48‘s training session to see how he can help and support the trainees who are facing one of the toughest competitions in their lives.
AKB48‘s Takeuchi Miu revealed that she’s been struggling with her confidence ever since her popularity ranking started to drop.
“My popularity ranking dropped significantly. Has this ever happened to you?”
— Takeuchi Miu
Lee Seung Gi reminded her that she shouldn’t focus on the negative sides of a problem, but focus more on how she can pull through the difficult situation by using her unique strengths.
“The way I look at it is… The moment you begin to think, ‘Did I do something wrong? What do I need to do better?’, your strengths become harder to see as well.
I hope you’ll continue until the very end with the mindset of ‘Let me do my best to show them what my best strengths are!’”
— Lee Seung Gi
He urged them to have confidence and trust in themselves – believe that they have the skills and strength to focus on what they need to get done in order to achieve their goals.
“When you get on stage, don’t worry about your ranking. I think it’s most important to solely focus on your role in the performance.
You need to think, even just for that moment, ‘I am the best’.”
— Lee Seung Gi
Once you believe in yourself, find what works best for you. He wants them tp complete their goals while focusing on their own individual characteristics. Don’t try to be someone else. Just be you.
“The one advice I’d like to leave you with is to contemplate more on finding your individualistic color.”
— Lee Seung Gi
He also gave the perfect advice regarding feedback and criticism. He told them to look over their feedbacks but only to a certain extent. Don’t dwell on others’ opinions but focus on their own improvement.
“When you’re looking at the feedback and number of likes on your videos, just scroll through them quickly and end it there.
I don’t want you to lose your unique characteristics because of [feedbacks and likes].”
— Lee Seung Gi
And don’t worry about making mistakes. He asserted that it’s only natural. Simply learn from them to become a better you!
“There’s another thing I want you to know. The hardest moments are when the scariest critiques are looking at you perform. That’s why it’s natural for you to make a mistake.
Just think, ‘Oh this is good. I’ll just focus on perfecting this more.’”
— Lee Seung Gi
Lee Seung Gi brought the trainees to tears as they thanked him for his heartfelt lessons on life.
