On October 23, 2023, Lee Sun Kyun himself provided a brief statement through his legal representative. Yonhap News called his agency upon allegations that his wife, actress Jeon Hye Jin had sold a building at a loss in order to pay the blackmail fees requested by the drug dealer. The drug dealer allegedly threatened Lee Sun Kyun due to his status and image. The legal representative denied that the sale of the building had anything to do with his case.
In addition, they denied knowing the “3rd generation Chaebol” that was involved in the investigations. The chaebol in question was said to be Hwang Ha Na, who is already widely known by the public for her previous drug abuse charges and relationship to JYJ‘s Yoochun. They claimed that “Lee only met the relative party for a simple meeting recently, and absolutely does not know the 3rd generation chaebol and trainee that is being mentioned in the case.”
On the other hand, with regard to questions on drug usage, things were kept short.
It is difficult to respond at the moment. We will diligently participate in investigations.
