Lee Sun Kyun‘s fans mourned the actor’s passing.
On December 27, Lee Sun Kyun was found unresponsive in his car. Police would later confirm that the actor had passed away.
The actor leaves behind an illustrious filmography. Originally a theatre actor, Lee Sun Kyun would become one of Korea’s most decorated actors.
Lee Sun Kyun first made his debut in the 2001 sitcom Lovers before breaking out in the legendary K-Drama Coffee Prince. The actor then became a household name with the release of K-Drama Pasta and achieved international acclaim through My Mister.
The late actor would go on to make history when his movie Parasite became the first Korean movie to win the Palm d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and the first Korean film to win an Academy Award.
Fans of the actor mourned his passing, with many sharing how much the actor had meant to them.

the news about lee sun kyun has really thrown me into a state of shock and sadness. i think the media and the social attitude it perpetuates are deeply heartless, i hope they find some humanity to let him rest. i hope he can rest now, i hope his loved ones will find peace also

The late actor leaves behind a wife and two children. He was 48 years old.
