Bold and candid personality…
And, of course, her immense musical talent.
Although the rapper often goes viral for her relatable and entertaining personality, Lee Young Ji is a phenomenal rapper who first made waves by winning High School Rapper 3 and then again by competing on Mnet‘s Good Girl.
She also has a great singing voice that even impressed Danish singer Christopher Lund Nissen.
And the rapper is part of a dance-oriented friend group after teaming up with Weki Meki‘s Yoojung and LOONA‘s Yves after former IZ*ONE‘s Chaeyeon invited them to the “Mega Crew Mission” in Street Woman Fighter. Her dance ability is definitely undeniable.
Given Lee Young Ji’s incredible talent, it’s understandable that fans are eagerly waiting for her next comeback. And singer Crush also seems to be excitedly waiting to see what the talented rapper will come out with.
Crush: I personally think that you are very good at singing. I’m serious. You are very good at singing and dancing. Your voice is unique. Non-existent in Korea… So I hope you release more albums.
But Lee Young Ji admits that she is currently trying to understand herself and improve her skills.
Lee Young Ji: Right now, I am in the middle of understanding and finding different ways to develop myself.
Which actually makes it difficult for her to release new music because she’s trying to decide what type of songs she wants to pursue.
Lee Young Ji: And it becomes harder for me to release new songs.
Crush: Why?
Lee Young Ji: I initially started with a mindset to just do rap but as I continue to work on music, the range of genres that I want to do becomes wider. And this makes it hard to choose the direction.
But Crush encourages Lee Young Ji to release music still, even if she’s not satisfied with the reception it will receive.
Crush: But those pieces of music that you uploaded on YouTube relatively haven’t received much attention and fame, I think it’s just like a diary.
Lee Young Ji: Oh, you just need to continue to do it?
Crush: Yeah you need to continue to do it. For me, by doing so, I eventually came up with an idea on how I should develop myself.
Hopefully, Lee Young Ji will be able to release new music that she’s proud of soon.
