On September 18, one of South Korea’s most beloved stars celebrated her 16th year in the entertainment industry with a generous donation of ₩225 million KRW (about $170,000 USD). The star is none other than the philanthropic queen IU.

The singer made the donation through her agency, EDAM Entertainment, under the name “IUAENA,” a combination of her stage name and her fan club, UAENA.

The funds will be directed to various causes, including support for children with rare diseases, assistance for the elderly living alone, and improvement of facilities for people with severe disabilities. Specifically, the donation will go towards medical treatment, education, and psychological support for children, as well as replacing old equipment and enhancing care environments for infants and disabled individuals.
