Singer Lim Jae Hyun Addresses Recent Chart Manipulation Controversy

Singer Lim Jae Hyun, who was suspected of chart manipulation after his song rapidly rose to the top of the music charts, has responded to accusations.

On May 22, Lim Jae Hyun shared a long post regarding the issue on his Instagram.

안녕하세요 임재현 입니다 이번 제 노래 '사랑에 연습이 있었다면'에 뜨거운 관심과 사랑을 보내주셔서 너무 감사드립니다. 제가 이런 사랑을 받아도 되는 사람인가.. 얼떨떨하고 황송하기만 합니다.. 저는 97년생의 서울예대 보컬전공 2학년 학생입니다. 참고로 현재 네이버에 인물등록이 되있지않아 네이버에 나오는 또다른 임재현 이라는 가수분은 제가 아님을 밝힙니다. 저는 이번에 받은 사랑에 대해 절대 자만하거나 우쭐하는 마음이 없습니다. 저의 음악적인 부족함을 더욱더 꾸짖어 주시고 저에게 조언해주시는 모든 분들에게 감사드립니다. 최근 제 노래에 대한 논란은 명백히 사실이 아니며 루머 유포와 무분별한 비방, 명예훼손 및 악성 댓글로 인해 저를 포함한 저희 가족은 물론 저를 사랑해주시는 분들까지 심각한 정신적 고통과 상처를 받고 있습니다.. 이는 명백한 범죄 행위가 될 수 있음에 계속되는 악의적인 행위들을 멈춰주시기 간곡히 부탁 드립니다.. 저는 제 음악을 좋아해주시고 저를 믿고 응원 해주시는 분들에게 믿음을 저버릴 행동은 절대 하지 않았습니다. 하고싶은 말도 많고 억울한 부분도 많지만 말을 줄이고 더 좋은 음악을 들려 드릴 수 있도록 열심히 노력하겠습니다. 저를 사랑해주시는 분들께 정말 감사하다는 말씀 드리면서 초심 잃지 않고 끊임없이 노력하는 가수가 되겠습니다. 감사합니다

Thank you for your great interest and love for my song ‘If There Was Practice in Love’.

I don’t know if I am allowed to receive this much love…
I’m feeling puzzled and grateful…I am a vocal major in my 2nd year of school at Seoul Institute of the Arts and I was born in 1997.
Also, because I cannot register my name on Naver at the moment, the singer who is listed on Naver as Lim Jae Hyun is not me.

I do not feel pride or conceited due to the love I’ve received lately. I am thankful to everyone who scold my musical inadequacies and give me advice.

The recent controversy regarding my song is clearly false and my entire family including myself and all of those who support me are experiencing severe psychological suffering and pain due to the spread of rumors, irreverent slander, defamation of character and malicious comments…
As they can be clear criminal acts, I earnestly ask that these malicious acts be stopped… I did not behave in a way that loses the trust of those who like my music and support and believe in me. There are many things I want to say and many things I feel is unfair but I will hold my words and work hard to show you better music.

I thank those who support me and will become a singer that consistently works hard without losing my initial motivation.
