“The Glory” Actress Lim Ji Yeon Breaks Down Crying During Interview
Actress Lim Ji Yeon broke down crying while talking about her family during an interview.
On March 17, the actress met with Wikitree to speak about her most recent K-Drama, The glory. In the drama, Lim Ji Yeon plays the role of Park Yeon Jin, the leader of a group who bullies Moon Dong Eun (played by Song Hye Kyo) in High School, only to become victims themselves to Moon Dong Eun’s quest for revenge.
The drama has been an incredible success, with many fans parodying the drama by calling out Yeon Jin’s name in the drama’s signature tone. The actress spoke briefly about her newfound popularity.
I never knew that so many people would say Yeon Jin’s name. I feel proud and thankful. Everybody on social media calls me Yeon Jin, and I am thankful for that.

The actress who debuted in 2014 has had a very successful acting career thus far, but the Glory has been by far her most successful work. In fact, the drama is one of the most successful K-Drama, at least internationally, ever.
At the center of all the success is of course, Lim Ji Yeon, who has received a rousing response to her acting. In the interview, Lim Ji Yeon spoke candidly about the reception her acting has been receiving from fans all over the world.
To be honest, I have always tried. I’ve always been desparate and I’ve prepared for all my roles as I did for Yeon Jin. Although slowly, I like to think I am progressing and so I’ve always wanted to challenge myself for new characters. Many in my family and people closest to me told me that they cried after watching The Glory (because they were happy for me).

The actress then reportedly shed tears before continuing, “I am not sure why I am (crying) like this.” The actress then tearfully thanked her family.
My family knows how hard I’ve worked. They know how desperate I was. I felt I wasn’t as gifted as my collegues and so I thought I had to work harder. I am thankful to my family who knew this. I don’t know how long this will last so I want to continue acting with this feeling in my heart
