Louis Vuitton Accused Of Discriminating Between BLACKPINK’s Lisa And Liu Yifei

Both are global ambassadors of the brand.

Liu Yifei, one of the top-most actors from China, attended the 2024 Paris Fashion Week on October 2 as the global ambassador of Louis Vuitton. Many fans, however, were left disheartened by her appearance as they felt the brand did not treat Liu as well as they should have.

The first incident that ticked many off was Liu’s outfit. The actress turned heads in a black vest paired with a ruffled black skirt and boots. Her swept-back hair added to the look’s grunge aura.

However, fans recognized that the vest Liu wore was previously worn by Lisa in August during the pink carpet event for BLACKPINK’s Born Pink World Tour in Cinema.

Secondly, fans were upset that Lisa, along with Zendaya, was seated at the front row during the fashion show, alongside the First Lady of France, Brigitte Macron and LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, among others. Considering that Liu is a highly esteemed veteran actress, many felt that she deserved similar attention but was not treated accordingly by Louis Vuitton.

Interestingly, Louis Vuitton is known for padding out its shows’ front rows with brand ambassadors and friends of the house. Liu was photographed sitting at the front during the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2025 show in Barcelona in May, along with Sophie Turner and Stray Kids’s Felix. This has made Louis Vuitton’s recent treatment of the Chinese actress stand out even more to many critics.

Though the incident has sparked some tension between fans of the two celebrities, for the most part, they are happy to celebrate the respective success of the two, especially as Asian women carve out their own spaces in the luxury fashion world.
