Lovely Runner actor Lee Cheol Woo claimed he was innocent.

On May 20, Lee Cheol Woo responded to allegations that he was part of the Burning Sun scandal. The actor’s alleged role in the incident resurfaced after a BBC documentary brought renewed focus on the scandal.

According to the actor, he was not a part of the notorious chatroom and that he was part of a chatroom for a variety show.

As per the statement from my agency, I would like to again inform you that I was not a part of the chatroom. The chatroom that has implicated me in the scandal was for a 2016 JTBC variety show, Hit Maker. At the time, the chatroom was used to communicate our schedules and information regarding the program. Not only did we not write anything personal in the chatroom, but the chatroom was deleted after the variety show was canceled.

The actor then stated that he and his family have been suffering due to the allegations for years.

My family, acquaintances and I have been suffering from the misinformation for years. We ask that you stop the false speculation. We will respond to any further malicious comment with legal action.
