Male Singer To Release 19+ Album After Drug Abuse Controversy
Singer Wheesung has announced his comeback amidst the ongoing controversy involving his past usage of propofol.
On July 3, KST, Wheesung took to his social media and shared that his upcoming album, REALSLOW, will be a completely 19+ record. He added that the album is 40% finished and will be potentially released in the Winter.
Wheesung also warned his fans that they should skip his upcoming album if they were averse to provocative media.
The content is explicit, so listeners who usually have a strong aversion to provocative media should not have high expectations…I’ve occasionally released such R&B numbers since my debut, and this isn’t a particularly unusual move, but I wanted to give a heads-up in advance.
— Wheesung
Meanwhile, the singer was indicted in 2019 for purchasing and habitually administering propofol 12 times over three months. He received one year’s imprisonment with two years’ probation and a ₩60.5 million KRW (about $43,700 USD) fine as a punishment.
Wheesung, best known as an R&B singer and record producer, made his soloist debut in 2002 and has been a prominent name in the industry since then. His activities as a singer were paused after his indictment in 2019 until he marked his return with a 20th-anniversary concert last year.
