Malicious YouTuber Sojang Faces 4 Years Imprisonment And More

A malicious YouTuber who is widely known by her channel name Sojang has since been sentenced to 4 years in jail. She had been facing charges for the slander of many celebrities including IVE’s Wonyoung, Kang Daniel, aespa’s Karina, and more.

During her trial, the prosecution highlighted her crimes, claiming that Sojang ridiculed a victim over a total of five times and proactively created and posted videos of falsehoods that damaged the victim’s name. She also affected the management activity of the victims’ companies, and even operated paid content where she attacked the victims’ looks, character, and romantic lives. Considering this, the judge sentenced her to 4 years imprisonment and an additional fine of ₩211 million KRW (about $153,000 USD).
