MAMAMOO’s Hwasa Spills On The Artists She Dreams Of Collaborating With In The Future
Since debuting in MAMAMOO in 2014, Hwasa has taken the K-Pop world by storm. She has inspired netizens with her confidence and unwillingness to change to fit Korean standards. She is also truly talented and a pleasure to be around.
Yet, although Hwasa is known for her outgoing personality, it’s her talent and music that have touched the hearts of millions of fans worldwide.
In an exclusive interview with Koreaboo, Hwasa shared her thoughts on her past collaborations and spilled on which singers she would love to work with in the future!
Over the years, Hwasa has cemented herself as one of the most iconic idols in K-Pop. Not only has she and fellow members of MAMAMOO had success releasing tracks that have become true anthems for netizens…
And released her own solo music that has become a symbol of female empowerment…
But she’s collaborated with some of the biggest K-Pop idols, such as PSY. Hwasa explained that working with others meant that she could just focus on her parts and gel with the artists she would be working with.
Of course, with Hwasa’s success and popularity in K-Pop, there are probably so many idols that want to collaborate with the MAMAMOO singer. Yet, despite being successful, Hwasa has her own dream collaborations.
During our interview at HallyuPopFest in London, Hwasa was in deep thought about who she would want to collaborate with. She eventually picked two artists that she had dreamed of working with since she was a trainee. It was none other than Rihanna and Beyoncé.
During the interview, Hwasa couldn’t stop gushing about the two Western artists who have also made their names through being strong women.
It’s such a hard question. I have to think a lot but, this is a dream that I have had since I was a trainee. Beyoncé and Rihanna are the artists that I am hoping to collaborate with.

Yet, it isn’t the first time Hwasa has shown love for the two female artists. In 2019, Hwasa covered Rihanna’s track “Stay” when she performed on Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook, where she showcased her dazzling vocals.
Even on Instagram, Hwasa isn’t afraid to show her love for Rihanna in any way possible.
When it comes to “Queen B,” Queen Hwasa has also wowed with an amazing cover of the track “Ave Maria” and “Irreplaceable.” The MAMAMOO singer even revealed that whenever she needs confidence or inspiration, she looks up to Beyoncé.
The idea of Hwasa collaborating with either Beyoncé or Rihanna is enough to send the internet into meltdown. All three artists are truly strong and powerful women making their mark in an industry that tries to mold women into looking and acting a certain way.
